Private Affair is tale about a man coming to terms with his hidden homosexual desires. Private First Class Sean Matthews is a member of the United States Army. struggling with his sexual desires while on duty. Curious and feeling a bit experimental, Sean submits to his inner desires, which leaves him reeling. With a wife at home and a reputation to uphold, Private Matthews is caught between a rock and a hard place. The conflict the central character experiences makes for a good read, but the abundant sex scenes may prove to be a bit too much for the reserved. Overall a nicely written novel, with a fresh twist on a recently much explored topic.

1. What did you like best about this book?
I liked that this story, which is one that has been told before, was told this time with a twist.

2. What did you dislike about this book?
Although some sex scenes were necessary a few seemed to be fruitless in relation to the overall plot.

3. How can the author improve this book?
The author could improve this book by toning down or eliminating a few of the sex scenes in order to appeal to a wider audience.

I loved the book. I an former Air Force and pretty much was in the same situation with the Main Character, Sean. I can competely relate to the story. The only thing I diagreed with was the Type of Soldier cameron was. He was openly gay in the Army without sayin "I'm Gay" but the military would interpret his flamboyant ways as a way of saying "I'm Gay", and that is against the "don't as, Don't tell" policy that really does exist. I guess the point I'm making is that there aren't any men that are bold enough to be that open in the military and if there are I solute you because thats hot. It's time for change. I want to read more.

Wow! Someone is angry...I read Private Affair myself and I thought it was a good book and the sex scenes didn't bother me much, although I see what the reviewer meant by saying it may be a bit much for some.

Clearly whoever reviewed this novel has missed the point here as it pertains to the subject matter. How can you review a book that speaks about homosexuality and ask that the author tone down the sex scenes. Have you ever read any of E. Lynn Harris novels? His books have a ton of sex scenes. Whether it is offensive or over kill that is to the author's discretion where a story plot is tied into whatever the dilemma is for the main character. I feel your reviews are not on point, some are totally bias and whoever is writing these review should engage in reading the novels and learn to think outside the box so that you can understood the concept before making these "idiotic" statements.
Also, please buy yourselves a copy of "Line by Line" How to Improve Your Own Writing so you can stop making comments about author's needing to edit their books when your reviews seriously need editing as well.
