Camille Shane has the best three friends a woman can hope for and they stand by her as she strategically sleeps through each finger on her hands. As she goes through unworthy boyfriends, a husband who has more questions remaining about him than anyone in the book, a divorce that has no definition (not even the politically correct "Irreconcilable differences") and her latest relationship with Russell who could be the 'the one', will she lose it all when faced with a decision between her career and her personal life? Will she risk her future when the one ex-finger Malik she was never able to shake comes into town and offers her comfort in his arms?

Lola is a spicy Latina that pulls no punches when communicating with her girls but finds it hard to commit to a relationship will longtime boo Jasmir (Jazz), a professional basketball player with skills on and off the court. Will she finally come clean about her feelings for Jazz or will she spend years from college through adulthood finding excuses to keep him at arm's length? Is he her soul mate or does she have reason to keep her distance?

Monica turns out to be the softest of the bunch. She is book smart and professionally successful but finds herself in a compromising position when she enters a bad relationship with Hank, decades her senior and moves him, his daughter and grandchildren into her personal space. Who will she call on when things get out of hand and out of her house? Will it be sensible Camille, come-cry-on-my-shoulder Lola or let's-handle-this Neesa?

Neesa is the character that will "go there" for you if you need her to. And who doesn't need a friend like this? Neesa is a realistic character that is truly refreshing. How will she handle being set up on a blind date by her grandmother and her grandmothers neighbor from the senior community they live in? Will this be a match made in heaven or a touchy situation to navigate to avoid hurting the feelings of the closest person to her?

What did you like about the book?
I enjoyed the relationship between the women in this novel. It shows you can have female friends without jealousy, competition, and malicious situations. I could not review this book without giving compliments to the author for the surprise treat inside the book for the readers, an emery board with the book details on the back, how fitting!

What did you dislike about the book?
The small chronological chapters in the beginning become a bit annoying. Toward the end of the book, the editing began to slip. Misstatements and misspelled words take away from the feel of the book. One of the most pivotal moments in the entire book has grammatical errors, which took away from the feeling of it for me. (Example: page 217 'teaks should be tears'.) There was no closure or true detail of what happened to Camille's first marriage to Isaiah other than small references to him making this turning point in Camille's life feel unexplored and rushed.

What can the author do to improve the book?
Add more individual details about the supporting characters work lives. There are references to them and good detail for Camille, Russell, and Monica however, it falls short for Neesa, Hilton, and Lola. Although there were references (too many references with no substance actually) to Neesa being a recruiter along with her boyfriend Hilton's cousin there was no depth to it and Hilton's behavior towards the end of the book during and after a sister-girl vacation seems forgotten as it is never addressed or explained.
