Reviewed by: Chasity Boone Chanel Martinez is trying to make a living whichever way she can. With beauty that most can't deny, Chanel hopes her exotic looks (she is of Spanish descent) will help her to make a little money. Fresh off the plane and pressured to find work, Chanel stumbles on the chance of a lifetime, or so she thinks. She befriends Essence who is eager to be her friend too. Essence has a lot going on with her, but she doesn't mind, as long as she is having fun and making money. But will her greed lead them into a world that they both won't be able to handle? Solomon is Jamaican and he also loves money. He loves to make it and spend it on whatever comes his way. He is all about his paper. Through the course of events, Solomon will enter a world with Chanel that he has never known and he's quite sure that he doesn't want to know either. Ms. Jolie made sure that Chanel had a supporting cast in the book. The book was an easy read because you weren't confused about the characters. She made sure to introduce everyone, one step at a time, instead of just throwing characters into the mix. She made sure there was no confusion and she also made the book an interesting read. There were no editing problems and the typesetting was fine. The editor made sure that all the steps were followed in the book as far as the story structure, character development, motivation, as well as conflict versus confrontation. My only reservation about In Those Jeans is that I saw some similarities to Miasha's Secret Society. Overall the book was a quick enjoyable read, it just bothered me that there were some instances where I was reminded of another author's work while I was reading.
