Most authors can be measured by their first works, and if Even Numbers is any indication of what to expect from Ms. Grovner in the future, then the industry may have just received the angel it's been waiting on. Even Numbers explores an often unspoken of horror; Child abuse. Told from the ingenious perspective of a Fly on the wall, readers are made to experience the fictionalized reality created by the author.

Although grasping the concept of reading an account from a Fly's perspective may be a bit hard to accept at first, this point of view allows the author to deliver her novel in an uncharted way. Dominga, the main character and mother of Olivia, is a forlorn single mother looking for a man to help her with her troubles. Dominga eventually meets James, a predator who is exact in his ways, and falls for his cover. Blinded by her need for comfort and love, Dominga ignores the warning signs and allows James' manipulation to continue for the sake of keeping him around. Even Numbers should be read by every woman or man with a child. It is a warning that we as adults must be watchful of who we let into our children's lives.

What did you like best about the story?
Even Numbers was very well-written and descriptive. The concept was one of a kind and the author executed it well.

What did you dislike about the story?
Other than being upset with a few decisions made by the characters, this book lived up to the hype.

How can the author improve the book?
I am not sure how the author could improve her book. The plot flowed well and everything fell into place nicely.

Yeah, actually I'm not. I was just striving to rationalize it all. Trust-I do understand a review is a matter of opinion. So it's not serious at all.

Big homie Therone:

A book review is a matter of opinion; don't stress it so much dude.

I'm reading the review and it's like in way it praises Barbara as maybe being the angel the industry needs but the rating does not reflect the review considering that there were books mentioned with 4 star ratings by UBS that had issues in the "How can the author improve their work section". What's good? Are we playing favorites.
