"Trials and Tribulations, to be or not to be."

Shawnta, Joya, and Liz are friends but in this case the bonds between some will last longer then others. Shawnta is one some people consider conceited; she knows she is blessed and is not afraid to let you know it. Joya is from the hood, and is all about having her cake and eating it too. You'll be shocked by how down and dirty Joya gets in this book. Liz is the friend who has Shawnta's back, front, and middle. She watches everything that goes on around them and warns Shawnta about Joya's misdoings.

Shawnta and Joya are from two different sides of the track but their friendship goes back as far as grade school. Shawnta was not a big fan of Joya before they became friends; she was actually afraid of her. Despite the fear she had, Shawnta and Joya became the best of friends. They did everything together from getting in trouble to seeing who could get the next play. Shawnta even let Joya wear some of her clothes because she knew Joya did not have as much as she did. Liz and Shawnta met at a party through Liz's cousin. Once they met their personalities automatically clicked and they have been friends ever since. Liz is not a fan or a friend of Joya, their relationship is like oil and water. The only reason tolerates Joya is because they are both friends with Shawnta. Liz lives at home with her mom, her sister Keisha, and a mixture of eight nieces and nephews. Liz is at a point of trying to find her sanity; however the trials and tribulations she experiences with her family make her lose the little sanity she has.

Tammi Aldridge made sure that the three main characters of her story had supporting characters. The supporting characters in the book all had important roles. Moe, Shawnta's man, is all about getting what he can when he wants it. He loves money, women, and sex. Moe will come to blows with the real meaning behind the love that he has and the love that is lost. Eric comes along in the midst of the drama with Joya but will he teach Joya the real meaning of what it feels like to be loved? Tabitha is an old friend of Maurice's that doesn't have all her eggs in one basket. Myron comes along for the sake of Liz, but will he stay around for the sake of Liz.

Deal Wit It was an excellent read; from the beginning of the book you can tell that it is going to be drama-filled. There were less than five errors in this book, which is a wonderful thing. I really loved how Ms Aldridge brought to your attention that all friends are not your friends. The characters that really touched me were Joya and Liz. The reason why is because everyone has a friend that you know will not get along with the people you hang with but she just has to be in the midst of everything that is happening in your life. The book also teaches you how we as women should not always be looking for love sometimes we need to let love find us.

What did you like best about this book?
I was hooked from the beginning of the book. I enjoyed how Ms. Aldridge interpreted the friendship that the three ladies had. I felt the book was very honest, real, and drama-filled. It opens your eyes to what we as women really go through as far as determining who is your friend and who is not.

What did you dislike about the book?
There were a couple of errors, but nothing to get in a huff and puff about.

How can the author improve this book?
I think the ending with Shawnta should have gone a little longer.
